Celiac Disease – Gluten free restaurant serving Gluten Beer?

Question by Erica: Celiac Disease – Gluten free restaurant serving Gluten Beer?
Hello,

I am making a business plan in school for a cafe that is gluten free. However, my partners and I disagree on whether we should or should not serve beer with wheat in it. She says no because then we wouldn’t be gluten free.

So people with Celiac disease, would you be worried about cross contamination in a restaurant that is totally gluten free, with the exception of bottled beer?

No I wouldn’t be worried since the beer is already bottled and the risk of cross contamination with gluten is very very low. Unless beer is spilled on food, then I wouldn’t be concerned.

Keep in mind they make gluten free beer. One brand of GF beer is called Redbridge that is made by Anheuser-Busch.
