How does eating wheat hurt someone with celiac disease?

Question by Muffin: How does eating wheat hurt someone with celiac disease?
I have celiac disease, just recently diagnosed.

I went off wheat for a good 2 months but recently have been ‘addicted’ to bread again. It is ridiculous! It’s the only thing I desire to eat, but my dark eye circles are coming back and I am feeling lethargic and sickly.

What exactly is this doing to my body? How bad is it?

How do I get off wheat again?

Your body cannot digest wheat and it can cause weight loss, breathing problems and intestinal problems as well as prevent your body from absorbing all the nutrients it needs. There are other breads you can eat that do not have wheat in them. You need to educate yourself on what foods you can eat without causing long term harm.
