How long does it take for an adult diagnosed with celiac to get better?

Question by Kitty C: How long does it take for an adult diagnosed with celiac to get better?
I was diagnosed about 5 months ago and I have good days, then I’ll get sick from something and not sure what it is because I have definitely not ingested any gluten. I’m wondering how long it will take before I’m better and can assume that it’s a bug rather than my disease.

Someone with celiac doesn’t ever get better as you put it. Gluten is hidden in a lot of different things and it can be very tricky to detect sometimes. Also anything with casien in it can sometimes make a celaic’s life even more miserable. Casein is found in a lot of dairy products. The best way to manage celiac is to always be on the watch for anything that might have gluten in it and to approach things with caution if you don’t if they have gluten in them. Gluten can also be found in other non food products so you have to be wary of that also. The best thing that you can do though is to arm yourself with knowledge and learn everything that you can about your disease.
