My friend is coming over and she can not eat dairy or gluten she also has allergies to nuts, pears, tomato and lettuce. She is also vegan and vegetarian! What on earth can i make this girl? Any recipes?

Curry! Try the vegetarian curry bible. Go for one with coconut milk or without tomato. I would do a nice creamy chickpea and pumpkin curry or a green lentil dahl.

You could start by asking her if she has any favorite dishes you could make for her; she’ll know what she likes and is able to eat.Lentil soup is always a winner though.I like to season mine with curry powder and a good squeeze of fresh lemon juice. There’s a world of beans/legumes she can eat; you can make a garbanzo bean salad with green onions, dressed with olive oil and fresh lemon juice. You could also roast some root vegetables (onions, potatoes, parsnips, carrots and rutabagas). All of these dishes are delicious and fit within her diet.Go go www.epicurious.com for specific recipes.I wouldn’t give up on the idea of bread to go with any of the above dishes; there are lots of gluten-free breads in the market these days. Ask in the deli section if you have difficulty finding them.View this as an opportunity to teach yourself about healthful food – not as a chore.
