What’s the difference between celiac disease and a gluten allergy?

Question by Anne: What’s the difference between celiac disease and a gluten allergy?
Do people with celiac have to watch out for cross contamination?
A gluten allergy IS NOT something that causes gas and bloating, that is and intolerance.

My son has a gluten allergy and will go into anaphylactic shock if he ingests even trace amounts.

Celiac’s disease is where you can’t digest gluten so you can’t have anything with it, a gluten allergy is where if you have gluten it may not be digested very well.
